Part of the Ringwood Community
Parke Lawyers is deeply embedded in the Ringwood community, employing many locals and acting for clients throughout the area. Parke Lawyers first moved to Ringwood in 2012, after acquiring Holt & Macdonald. Holt & Macdonald can trace its roots back to the 1870s through RH Ballard & Co. That firm changed its name to Ballards in 1977 and upon the dissolution of that partnership one of the new firms to emerge was RH Ballard of Mitcham and the Melbourne CBD. Holt & Macdonald traces its origins back to Holt & Clemenson in the CBD, before Bob Holt set up practice in Ringwood some time after he lost his parliamentary seat. A merger was effected with RH Ballard & Co around 1979. The firm of Smith Ryan & Co merged with Holt & Macdonald in July 2000. In more recent years, former partners Ron Frederick and Don Ryan retired from legal practice, having joined Parke Lawyers as senior employees.
