Parke Lawyers is now a GoodWILL Champion which empowers the practice to enable people to leave a gift in their Will to support the work of UNICEF in improving the lives of children around the world.

Parke Lawyers Managing Director Jim Parke says leaving a gift in your Will is a powerful way to help improve the lives of children in need and fighting for children’s rights in every corner of the world.

As a GoodWILL Champion, Parke Lawyers is able to consider a preparing a simple Will free of charge, or on a reduced fee arrangement taking into account your desire to make a gift to UNICEF.

Mr Parke says Parke Lawyers is delighted to become a GoodWILL Champion and thereby help UNICEF to provide vital support to vulnerable children in almost 200 countries.

“No matter where you live, children are the future and the GoodWILL program enables Parke Lawyers to contribute to the future development of an improved social fabric globally,” he says.

“As well as enabling people to leave a gift in their Wills, we are also able to increase awareness of the vital work of UNICEF around the world, including close to home within the Asia Pacific region.”

Mr Parke says the GoodWILL program has many practical benefits for children, with examples including:

  • Even 1% of your estate can help educate children in remote areas of war-torn countries, giving them safe places to learn and play
  • A gift of real estate in your Will can help bring vaccinations to children in inaccessible areas of the Pacific
  • Gifting shares can mean funds to help bring clean water, sanitation and hygiene programs to children around the world

The world’s children are facing an unprecedented crisis, Mr Parke says, with rights being violated as they are displaced from their family homes by war, famine, drought and natural disasters. This plight is exacerbated by shrinking Government support for foreign aid.

“Remembering UNICEF Australia in your Will means the organisation can carry on protecting vulnerable children far into the future,” Mr Parke says.

“This decision will help save lives and give those most at risk a chance of a better childhood. From improving neonatal care to preventing disease, your legacy could transform children’s lives.”
